The Pioneer and Leader of the Korean Private Equity Market: IMM PE today is a leading private equity player in the area or significant minority investments and buyouts. However, the position as a top player in Korean PEF market was not achieved in one day. IMM PE has built up its track record with distribute returns to LP investors

2006~2007 - Growth Stage: Korean PEF industry emerged when the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act(formerly Indirect Investment Asset Management Business Act) was enacted in 2004. IMM PE was established in September 2006 as one of the first generation Korean private equity firms. In initial years, IMM PE focused on signiﬁcant minority investments in Korean conglomerates and successfully raised a total of KRW 145bn for Jupiter PEF and Primoris PEF in 2007, both of which were deal specific investment vehicles. Through such successful fundraising, IMM PE became a PEF that specializes in mid-to-large cap investments in Korea
2008~2011 - Transition: In 2008, IMM PE emerged as one of Korea’s most active private equity players. During this period, IMM PE successfully raised IMM Rosegold PEF, the first flagship fund, with a total commitment of KRW 313bn. IMM PE made 10 investments in Korea and China with IMM Rosegold PEF. IMM PE has done deals with domestic conglomerates including Doosan, GS, Eugene, and Taihan Electric Wire group, and assisted those groups in their balance sheet restructuring. Simultaneously, IMM PE invested in high growth companies including Celltrion Pharm which distributes biosimilar products in Korea.
2011~Present - Emergence as a leading private equity firm in Korea: Based on the successful track record of lMM’s first flagship PEF, IMM PE raised its second flagship fund, IMM Rosegold II PEF, with a total commitment of KRW 756bn in 2011. IMM Rosegold ll PEF is one of the largest Korean independent PEF with supports from over 20 Korean and international institutional investors. During the first year of IMM Rosegold ll PEF investment period, IMM PE made investments in Kyobo Life lnsurance(the Top3 domestic life insurance company), Handok and Alvogen Korea(both pharmaceutical companies). IMM PE also raised a corporate partnership fund(the COPA Fund) with GS Engineering and Construction. In 2012 the COPA Fund made an investment into GS Inima, a Spain based water treatment distillation company.

Upon the successful track record of Rosegold II PEF fund, IMM PE launched its third flagship fund, IMM Rosegold III PEF, in 2016 with total commitments of KRW 1.3tn from reputable domestic and global limited partners. IMM PE is actively pursuing both domestic and Korea-related overseas investment opportunities. Through IMM Rosegold III PEF fund, IMM closed investments in Woori Bank(Top3 Korean bank), Mars Entertainment(Movie multiplex chain), Intron Bio(Biotech) and Lezhin Entertainment(Online cartoon services) in 2016. IMM PE is currently actively pursuing both domestic and Korea-related overseas investment opportunities.
